Malév Implements Electronic Ticket Server

Amadeus has implemented of Amadeus Electronic Ticket Server (ETS) with Malév Hungarian Airlines.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA), which recently selected Amadeus as a preferred partner in its endeavour to achieve ticketless travel by 2007, estimates a Euro 7 saving per ticket issued. Offering electronic tickets will help Malév to increase its operational efficiency, raise levels of customer service and grow sales.

When it came to e-ticketing, it was a natural step for Malév to choose Amadeus to enjoy significant cost-savings. Amadeus ETS, with nearly 20 hosted carriers and more than 50 interline pairs implemented across all continents, provides access to more than 80 markets and is constantly updated to reflect industry needs and IATA recommendations. It will enable Malév to interline very efficiently with the airlines already part of the Amadeus Electronic Ticketing community, as well as with other airlines on demand.

Mr. András Zboray Chief Commercial Officer of Malév, added: “Fast implementation means faster benefits - and this is essential for Malév. Our excellent experience with Amadeus, who offer ready-to-market solutions with quick implementation, made the decision to take the Amadeus ETS an easy one.”

Frédéric Spagnou, Vice President, Amadeus, Airline Business Group says: “We are pleased that Malév has deepened its relationship with us. Amadeus ETS is part of a growing portfolio of leading IT solutions that enable airlines to transform their business and deliver tangible benefits. Amadeus is committed to become the airlines’ technology partner of choice.”
