MICROS Completes Agreement With Marriott

MICROS Systems has completed an agreement with Marriott International to implement components of the MICROS OPERA Suite at hotels outside of the United States.
Integrated with Marriott’s reservations system, MICROS OPERA will provide business functions unique to international properties, enhanced guest personalization opportunities worldwide, and a platform for continued international growth.

During a multi-year effort, Marriott brands outside the U.S. will implement components of the MICROS OPERA Suite, primarily the OPERA Property Management System (PMS) and Sales & Catering modules. This includes the following hotel brands: Marriott Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, The Ritz- Carlton, Bulgari, Marriott Vacation Club International and Marriott Executive Apartments.

“Moving to OPERA allows Marriott to implement a solution that meets the needs of our international properties by providing robust functionality geared toward global markets,” said Ed Fuller, President & Managing Director for International Lodging at Marriott. “Multi-lingual capabilities, in-country support and our shared global perspective were important factors leading to our selecting MICROS OPERA.”

“We value our long-term and continuing relationship with Marriott International. We are committed to delivering quality software that is as innovative as it is functional and exceeds all requirements and operational needs,” noted Kaweh Niroomand, President of MICROS-Fidelio EAME. “The OPERA Suite provides more than advanced technology; it fully integrates with the Marriott business plan to enable Marriott to pursue and fulfill its business objectives.”
