United Celebrates its 3,888,888th Passenger

As the first U.S. airline to
launch nonstop service between China and the United States, United today commemorates its 3,888,888th passenger to
fly from China to the United States. “Since launching the first China - U.S. route in 1986, United has been
committed to building a bridge between China and the United States,
promoting bilateral trade and tourism, and providing the best and most
convenient services for customers traveling between the two countries,”
said Sidney Kwok - United general manager of China. “As United employees,
we are very proud that United provides convenient, safe and comfortable
service to so many customers, and we are excited to join in this
celebration and meet the 3,888,888th passenger to fly on United from China
into the United States.”

To celebrate this historic event, United held a special ceremony at the
boarding gate in the Beijing Capital International Airport this morning.
Jiang Zonghui is the 3,888,888th passenger who boarded United Flight 888
from China to the United States. Zonghui received an award certificate and
a Mileage Plus Premier membership card containing 388,888 bonus miles. The
awarded miles can be used to redeem roundtrip United First Class, United
Business Class or United Economy class tickets for travel on any United,
Ted, United Express or Star Alliance partner.
