Alamo Offers GPS in the U.S.

Alamo Rent A Car  is now offering portable GPS systems for hire from over 60 locations in the United States.  The portable units will make route-planning stress-free for customers exploring the US in a rental car from Alamo this Summer.
The GPS units are charged at $9.99 a day, look like a cell phone and can be fitted in any size or class of vehicle. Customers can rent the unit at the time the car is collected.

The voice guidance has clear and timely instructions with street names, distances and exit numbers.  If the driver misses an instruction they can simply press the one-touch button and the device will repeat the last voice command and re-route if desired. If the driver leaves the route, the system will provide a voice prompt.

Should the worst happen, the device can be used to call 911 directly or the GPS help desk for emergency assistance.

Sally Hinds, Marketing Director for Alamo Rent A Car said: “Even though the roads in the US are good quality with clear directions it can still be a little daunting for holidaymakers as they head out on to the open road and familiarise themselves with their surroundings.  These GPS units will certainly guide them on their journey, helping to ensure they arrive at their destination safe, secure and stress-free.
