Continental Inaugurates Belfast Service

Continental Airlines,
recently named the OAG “Airline of the Year 2005,” will begin daily
nonstop flights from its hub at Newark Liberty International Airport to
Belfast, Northern Ireland starting tomorrow. This route, the second in a
series of six trans-Atlantic routes that will be added by Continental this
summer, will be the only year-round scheduled nonstop trans-Atlantic
service to Northern Ireland and the first nonstop scheduled service ever
to operate from the U.S. to Northern Ireland. Continental began service from New York/Newark to Bristol last week.
Following the addition of Belfast tomorrow, Continental will inaugurate
service to Stockholm on June 2; Hamburg on June 9; Berlin on June 30 and
Delhi on Nov. 1.

“We’re proud to bring our award-winning service to Northern Ireland and to
make travel easier for people flying between the U.S. and Belfast,” said
Jim Summerford, Continental’s Vice President Europe, Middle East and India.

Continental flight CO94 departs New York/Newark daily at 7:55 p.m.,
arriving at Belfast at 7:30 a.m. the next day. Flight CO95 departs Belfast
daily at 9 a.m. and arrives at New York/Newark at 11:25 a.m. the same day.
Flight times are approximately six hours and 35 minutes traveling east and
seven hours and 25 minutes traveling west. Continental will operate five
flights a week during the winter months and will return to daily service
in spring 2006.

Continental’s flights to Belfast are operated with a 172-seat Boeing 757
aircraft carrying 16 passengers in the BusinessFirst cabin and 156 in
economy. This premium-class cabin features extra-wide electronic sleeper
seats with 55- inch pitch, adjustable winged headrests and personal video
screens. Other BusinessFirst amenities include gourmet menus and
award-winning wines and champagnes. BusinessFirst offers International
Concierge Service with a specially-selected and trained corps of more than
200 staff that provides individualized pre and post-flight services for
BusinessFirst customers at 26 key international airports.

Passengers arriving at Newark Liberty International Airport can use the
spacious and modern immigration and customs facilities in Terminal C3,
Continental’s Global Gateway, and connect quickly and easily with
Continental’s 420 daily flights from Liberty International Airport to more
than 180 destinations worldwide, in some cases without having to change
