Continental Inaugurates Bristol Flight

Continental Airlines will
begin daily nonstop flights from its New York hub at Newark Liberty
International Airport to Bristol, England starting tomorrow. This new
service will link New York with the largest city in southwest England, and
is the first ever scheduled nonstop trans-Atlantic service to this region. This new service is the first in a wave of six new trans-Atlantic routes
Continental is inaugurating from New York this year. Following the May 19
inaugural flight to Bristol, Continental will begin nonstop service from
New York/Newark to Belfast on May 26; Stockholm, June 2; Hamburg, June 19;
Berlin, June 30; and Delhi on Nov. 1.

Continental flight CO76 departs New York/Newark daily at 8:55 p.m. and
arrives in Bristol at 8:55 a.m. the next day. The return flight CO77
departs Bristol daily at 11:10 a.m. and arrives in New York/Newark at 2
p.m. the same day. The flight times are seven hours heading east and seven
hours and 50 minutes traveling west.

“It’s great to add Bristol to our U.K. route network and offer a more
convenient service to this region for our customers in the Americas,” said
Jim Summerford, Continental’s vice president, Europe, Middle East and
India. “Travelers heading to southwest England and south Wales no longer
have to face the extra time traveling to London. They can now fly nonstop
to Bristol.”

Bristol is the largest city in southwest England and is home to the
national headquarters of more than 160 companies. Bristol is also home to
high-tech businesses, aerospace industries and is one of Europe’s leading
locations for micro-electronics and silicon design, with more than 400
such companies.
