High Technology at the Sheraton Park Tower

The Sheraton Park Tower in Knightsbridge has installed the latest in in-room technology into its Executive Suites, Butler and Penthouse Suites in order to meet the expectations of business travellers and regular suite guests.
The new in-room technology is designed to facilitate the business traveller with top speed broadband internet access in all rooms, from the desk or through the TV.  The hotel now offers its guests the highest speed internet access among London’s five star hotels.  The installation of an “8 meg-pipe” allows the hotel to meet the most demanding download requirements.  In comparison competitor hotels in London offer a maximum of “2 meg”.

In addition, instead of having to remember adaptors or scrabble around behind the desk for the one socket, the hotel has also implemented a socket panel with 8 international plug sockets as standard in the suite rooms.  Guests from Europe, the Middle East and the US will be able to plug in and go.

To relax after a day of meetings, guest downtime is also well catered for.  The Sheraton Park Tower has installed a new entertainment system from Quadriga.  This offers a library of movies on demand, where guests can enjoy over 40 hours worth of blockbusters, Hollywood classics, kids, sports and adult features. The system also enables music lovers to choose from a selection of CDs to download and play in their rooms. The system allows guests to pause, fast forward and rewind movies and music - a unique feature for hotel rooms.

In addition, the Sheraton Park Tower has partnered with Bang and Olufsen, in order to provide extra luxury in its Penthouse suites.  A 42” BeoVision Plasma screen was installed as a trial in one of the Penthouse Suites on the 17th floor. Guest feedback on this new offering was enthusiastic, with them extolling the virtues of the optimal picture quality as well as the integrated loudspeakers, delivering up to 96 decibels of sound. Following this positive feedback the hotel has placed orders to have the same Bang and Olufsen Plasma screens installed in a further three Penthouse Suites. Guests staying in the hotel’s Penthouse Suites, which start at £2,500, can now rightly expect state of the art in-room entertainment.

Penthouse bedrooms are also equipped with top technology DVD/CD players, state of the art TV, an intelligent FM radio and two active loudspeakers. Slim and elegant screens are also placed in the Butler suites where BeoVision 26 LCD TVs offer the latest crystal picture technology.

Anne Scott, Hotel Manager at the Sheraton Park Tower says, “We now offer the fastest internet access of all five star London Hotels, which is something really important to today’s hectic business travellers, as it allows them to be more efficient and hopefully then have more time to enjoy their surroundings and explore London a little more than many executives get the chance to. Our guests can now also enjoy the best level of in-room entertainment as well - to enjoy their free time once they have logged off and shutdown.”

The technology upgrade was one element of a wider refurbishment programme for the hotel, part of the Luxury Collection portfolio.  The hotel spent over £500,000 on a luxury refurbishment of 7 Butler and 10 Executive suites. 12 of the suites have already been completed - and a further 5 will be transformed by May.
