TACA Outsources Reservations to Amadeus

TACA (Air Transport of the American Continent) has become the 150th airline to
outsource its full sales and reservations operations to Amadeus Altéa Sell,
a community-based sales and reservation platform unique in the industry.
As part of a fully integrated offer that enables airlines to exploit
multiple distribution channels, Amadeus also provides Amadeus e-Travel
Planitgo, the most widely adopted internet Self-Service engine that allows
airlines to realise economies of scale and achieve further cost savings.
Since adopting Planitgo for its website (TACA.COM) in 2004, TACA’s online
business has grown 35%.

“By combining TACA’s regional leadership and Amadeus’ global reach
throughout 217 markets,” explains Alfredo Schildnecht, TACA President and
CEO, “TACA benefits from a global distribution network that enables us to
better cater to our customers’ needs and ultimately provide better service
to travellers.”

Frédéric Spagnou, Amadeus Vice President, Airline Business Group, explains,
“By creating the Altéa Sell and Planitgo combination, Amadeus provides a
greater level of functionality and services to all players in the
distribution chain, from airlines to travel agents, ultimately making the
best possible travel experience for the traveller a reality at a very
competitive cost for the airline.”
