Blumenthal Takes His Talent to Sandy Lane

Heston Blumenthal, fresh from winning the coveted title of “World’s Best Restaurant” for the Fat Duck in Berkshire at the prestigious The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2005 on April 18, will now be joining Sandy Lane, Barbados at signature restaurant L’Acajou on May 29 and 30 to showcase his extraordinary culinary talent.
Without doubt the chef of the moment, Blumenthal achieved the fastest three Michelin stars in British Michelin history, having won his first only five years ago. His cooking is a hive of experimentation: looking at food from a holistic point of view that does not automatically take tradition for granted. His experimentation with completely different flavours and textures has made his cooking the stuff of international legend.

Famed for his extravagant menus and amazing ingredients, guests will be able to sample some of his world-renowned dishes; such as chocolate and caviar buttons, salmon with liqourice and sardines on toast sorbet, as well as menu items created exclusively for Sandy Lane.

What better place to experience the delicious food of this internationally renowned chef than amidst the stunning environs of the Sandy Lane Hotel? Located on the finest stretch of beach on the western coast of the island of Barbados, this luxurious property attracts those who look for more than just a hotel.

Sandy Lane is a way of living and for this reason is incomparable. Rooms averaging 900 square feet, Bentley airport transfers, four restaurants and a 47,000 square foot spa. There are even two Tom Fazio designed 18-hole golf courses, with spectacular panoramas overlooking the Caribbean Sea. It is no wonder the hotel has attracted one of the worlds most exciting and famous chefs.

If you needed an excuse to stay at the fabulous Sandy Lane, the lure of tasting what Heston Blumenthal will concoct in the most gloriously exotic of settings is a temptation almost impossible to resist.
