The Balmoral Voted Edinburgh’s Hotel of the Year 2005

Rocco Forte Hotels’ The Balmoral in Edinburgh has won two accolades at The Scottish Hotel of the Year awards, Scotland’s largest hospitality and hotel awards, which are organised by HotelReviewScotland.com.  The Balmoral, which hosted the prestigious event this year, walked away with Edinburgh’s Hotel of the Year title, as well as The Scottish Hotel Marketing Award.
Competition was fierce for the Edinburgh Hotel of the Year title, with the commitment of each and every member of staff to deliver consistently high levels of service giving The Balmoral the winning edge.  This fact was recognised by the 11,000+ members of the public who voted online and the panel of experts from the Scottish hospitality industry who delivered the final verdicts.

The Scottish Hotel Marketing Award, which was a new category at this year’s Scottish Hotel of the Year awards ceremony, acknowledged The Balmoral’s effective and innovative marketing and press campaigns, which have successfully positioned the hotel as the best in the city.

Commenting on the two awards, Debbie Taylor, General Manager of The Balmoral, said, “I am delighted to have hosted this year’s event, which saw over 300 of Scotland’s top hoteliers celebrating together.  I am also thrilled that The Balmoral has been recognised as the top hotel in Edinburgh, which is a reflection of our passion for personalised service delivery, as well as the fun and stylish, but also comfortable, environment we have created for guests.

“I am particularly proud that we have been recognised for our marketing and press activities in the first year of The Scottish Hotel Marketing Award.  It is a great honour for the marketing and press team, and is a direct result of their creative ideas in promoting both The Balmoral and Scotland as a destination.”

These two awards are in addition to the numerous awards that The Balmoral has received in the last six months.  These include the Scottish Thistle Award for Customer Care - Hotel of the Year, Conde Nast Traveller’s Best Urban Day Spa in the UK and Sexiest Hotel 2004.
