It’s Cooking at Villa San Michele

Due to the overwhelming success of the cooking classes offered at Villa San Michele over the past few years, this five-star hotel nestled in the hills overlooking Florence introduced a permanent establishment in 2004.ÊThe Villa San Michele School of Cookery enables guests to partake in any number of classes held throughout the hotel’s season, which runs from April to October.ÊCooking enthusiasts, whether they are beginners or experts, can choose from a series of specialized lessons held by famous chefs, as well as culinary experts from Italy and abroad.
The Villa San Michele School of Cookery has introduced some new classes for 2005.Ê The Children’s Cookery School introduces children ages 8 to 14 to the fundamental points of nutrition and basic cooking skills.Ê The Great Masters for Great Gourmets features courses by acclaimed chefs Anton Mosimann, Jun Tanaka, Giuliano Hazan, Sara and Nancy Jenkins and Raymond Blanc, Chef at the acclaimed Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in Oxfordshire, England, a sister Orient-Express property.Ê The school is also devoting a course to singles, teaching those living alone how to prepare delicious and unique food in smaller portions.

All of the courses are ‘hands-on.’Ê The students work directly in the kitchens alongside the experts.Ê The class size is deliberately limited to allow for optimum attention from the instructors, with a maximum of ten people per class.
