Michelle Peluso Joins TechnoServe’s Board of Directors

Michelle Peluso, Travelocity’s President and CEO, has become the newest member of TechnoServe’s Board of Directors. Ms. Peluso, who has been at the helm of Travelocity since December 2003, is widely recognized as a top business leader, innovator and entrepreneur. The Wall Street Journal ranked her number 4 on its “50 Women to Watch” list in November 2004; that same year Ms. Peluso was named to Fast Company Magazine’s “Fast 50,” an annual survey that recognizes 50 leaders, innovators and technology pioneers. She was also named the “Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award winner in 2002, and the “2001 Technology Person of the Year” by Travel Agent Magazine.

“We’re all delighted that Michelle has joined TechnoServe’s Board of Directors,” said Chairman Tierney. “Michelle’s talent, experience and energy are a wonderful fit for TechnoServe and the unique work that we do—assisting entrepreneurs and creating successful businesses in developing countries.”

“TechnoServe is doing incredibly innovative work to eliminate poverty in developing countries,” said Michelle Peluso. “What impresses me most is TechnoServe’s market-driven approach, assistance to entrepreneurs, and emphasis on cost-effective and sustainable solutions. I’m very pleased to be joining this important effort and look forward to working with my fellow Board members and TechnoServe’s staff.”
