America West Airlines Announces Vegas Service

America West Airlines , the
nation’s second largest low-cost airline, announces the beginning of
service from its Las Vegas hub with the addition of nonstop jet service to
Albuquerque, N.M. and Boise, Idaho. With this new service, the airline
will operate 138 daily departures and serve 56 nonstop destinations from
Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, more than any other carrier.“Our customers have more options than ever as our Las Vegas hub continues
to expand our already extensive route system,” said Dion Flannery, vice
president, planning and distribution. “Albuquerque and Boise are the first
of several new destinations slated to begin service to Las Vegas in 2005.”

The new service to Albuquerque will be operated by America West using the
150-seat Airbus 320 (A320) aircraft. America West Express, operated by
Mesa Airlines, will provide the new service to Boise utilizing the 86-seat
Candadair Regional Jet 900 (CRJ900).
