Lovekamp Named GM of New Hilton Garden Inn

officially announced Jim Lovekamp as General Manager of the new Hilton
Garden Inn Chicago Midway Airport, scheduled to open in March 2005. The
new hotel will be located in the Midway Hotel Center, just 2 blocks south
of Chicago’s Midway Airport. Lovekamp returns to White Lodging Services, where he originally served as
general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Benton Harbor and the
Courtyard by Marriott Fort Wayne during his two-year tenure. He brings
with him over fourteen years of diverse hospitality experience. Lovekamp
spent the last four years at the Depot in downtown Minneapolis, a unique
lodging, meeting and recreation complex consisting of a Courtyard by
Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, an indoor ice rink and indoor water
park. Previous to the Depot, he was general manager at the Fairfield Inn
by Marriott and The Carnegie, an independent boutique hotel, both in
Johnson City, TN.

The Hilton Garden Inn will feature 174 deluxe guest rooms complete with
traveler friendly amenities including a spacious work area with an
oversized work desk, telephones with voicemail and data ports, microwave,
refrigerator, coffeemaker and complimentary high speed Internet access.
The hotel’s restaurant, “Great American Grill,” will serve breakfast and
dinner daily plus provide catering services for meetings and events. The
hotel will feature over 2,300 square feet of flexible meeting space, a
24-hour business center, complimentary 24-hour signature “Red Trolley”
service to Chicago’s Midway Airport and Orange Line “El” Train Station,
plus indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness center, and a 24-hour Pavilion Pantry
convenience mart.

The location of the new Hilton Garden Inn Chicago/Midway Airport places it
just 15 minutes from Chicago downtown attractions including McCormick
Place, Navy Pier, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and United Center. Nearby
companies and attractions include Chicago Motor Speedway, Cintas, Clorox,
and Insure One.
