Hotelzon Opens Office in Shanghai

Hotelzon
is entering the worlds fastest growing travel market, the Peoples Republic of China, by opening an office in Shanghai in February 2005. The new subsidiary, Hotelzon China, a WOFE (Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise) will be headed by seasoned travel expert Mr Qing Chen who also becomes a minority owner in the new company. The local presence in China will not only offer the Chinese corporations access to efficient and cost effective hotel bookings through Hotelzon system but it will also benefit all the Hotelzon customers globally who now get access to hundreds of Chinese hotels at very attractive rates.
China’s travel and hospitality market continues to advance rapidly and the growth rate experienced to date should see China become the largest travel market in the world well before the year 2020 as previously predicted by the World Tourism Organization. Hotelzon will be serving all three sectors of the market - domestic travel, inbound travel and outbound travel - with its innovative technology: fully customizable online reservation systems for corporate customers and travel agency partners supported by a call center solution. For local hotels Hotelzon offers an affordable and flexible distribution channel to tens of thousands of corporations all over the world. The system will be localized to meet the local market demands and it will also be available in Chinese.
The new CEO of Hotelzon China, Mr Qing Chen, has wide experience of the Chinese lodging market and he has held management positions in companies such as HRS China, 4Oceans China and CITS.  According to Mr Chen, there is a clear market demand for Hotelzon’s system in China: ““Hotelzon provides the most comprehensive online tools for today’s corporate hotel market. The efficient and easy-to-use system offers users an intuitive and fast method for making their hotel reservations thus cutting dramatically the indirect costs related to hotel bookings. It also offers savings by giving corporate travel managers a better control over their travel policy compliance.”
In addition to serving the local corporate customers, Hotelzon China will also bring hundreds of Chinese hotels into the Hotelzon Network. The locally negotiated hotel rates will ensure that all the Hotelzon customers outside of China will also enjoy the lowest rates available in those hotels.
