Belize appoints new minister of tourism

Belize’s Prime Minister, the Honourable Said Musa, has reduced his cabinet as of December 28, 2004, from sixteen members to twelve.ÊIncluded in the reduction and the reshuffling is the appointment of a New Minister of Tourism, Godfrey Smith.“The tourism industry is a vibrant industry. The former Minister of Tourism, Mark Espat has set the ground work for continued development, which we will carry through the Belize Tourism Board’s existing plans,” comments Tourism Minister Godfrey Smith.

“I look forward to expanding tourism opportunities for all stakeholders and to building a strong relationship with the tourism private sector,” Minister Smith noted.

The Belize Tourism Board will maintain its current marketing and product development initiatives and continue to support the industry by solidifying partnerships with both the cruise and overnight sectors.
