Best Western Deploys Brilliant Hotelsoftware

Brilliant Hotelsoftware (BHS) announced its intent to develop a two-way interface to Best Western International’s worldwide Central Reservation System. Best Western members using Brilliant PMpro will benefit from the completely automated reservation stream between this widely popular PM system (PMS) and the Central Reservation system of Best Western, the ‘World’s Largest Hotel Chain.’

The new interface enables Best Western’s members to make their operations more efficient by no longer having to manually check their reservations using the Best Western web interface to their CRS. All reservations will be automatically delivered to the property management system. Any updates to the hotel’s rates, inventory, Gold Crown Club points etc. will be updated instantly and automatically into the CRS. The interface is expected to be available at the end of 2005.

The interface is based on the new standard in communication protocol among software systems serving every facet of travel and tourism known as the OTA 2003b Specification. This interfacing standard was developed by the Open Travel Alliance and is designed for more open connectivity among software systems throughout the hospitality and travel industry. The system is based on XML messaging and allows software systems to communicate in a standard format. This eliminates errors and ensures prompt delivery of reservations.
