Outrigger Portfolio Continues To Grow

Outrigger Hotels and Resorts has been awarded the management rights for its tenth resort in the Australian state of Queensland and for its third resort in New Zealand. Both properties join the company’s growing portfolio of accommodation within the Pacific which now includes 53 properties, with more than 12,000 rooms in Hawaii, Australia, Guam, Fiji, Tahiti and New Zealand. Outrigger Port Douglas Beach Club Resort (Australia)
The Outrigger Port Douglas Beach Club Resort will be comprised of four low-rise buildings with a central complex reminiscent of an open-air Mediterranean villa. This deluxe boutique property will include a total inventory of 100 units. Guests will access their luxurious accommodations by traveling along a granite cobblestone driveway flanked by dense plantings of tropical vegetation and mature coconut palms. The property will look out towards the world-famous “Four Mile Beach”. Additional amenities will include secluded tropical grounds and water features accessed by private swim-up pool decks. Opening is scheduled for October 2005.

Outrigger Terraces Resort, Lake Taupo (New Zealand)
In February 2005, Outrigger Hotels & Resorts will assume management of the historic Terraces Hotel near the world-renowned hot springs district of Taupo on New Zealand’s North Island. At that time, the property will be re-branded the Outrigger Terraces Resort, Lake Taupo.

The celebrated property, dating from 1889, combines old-fashioned hospitality with attractive accommodations and a range of amenities. The hotel offers two restaurants, conference and meeting facilities, two bars, an underground wine cellar and is adjacent to the Taupo Hot Springs Spa which is available for guest use. In addition, redevelopment in 2005 will also include tennis courts, fitness facility, sauna and a swimming pool. Additional attractions and activities in the surrounding region include golf, fly-fishing, skiing, kayaking, hiking, white water rafting and swimming.
