Bajan government sends condolences to tsunami victims

In the wake of the unprecedented devastation caused by the tsunami in Asia last week, the Government of Barbados has expressed its deepest condolences to the countries most severely affected.In letters issued on behalf of the people of Barbados to the prime ministers and presidents of the Maldives, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka, Acting Prime Minister Mia Mottley empathised with their governments and people.

She stated that Barbados was acutely aware of the vulnerability of small island states and coastal communities to the ravages of natural disasters of this kind.
