The Shilla Seoul Unveils World Famous Guerlain Spa

South Korea’s premier 5-star hotel, The Shilla Seoul, has opened the ultimate pampering experience in association with the world famous L’Institut de Guerlain.ÊThe leading French luxury brand’s “new generation of spa” highlights a major enhancement of The Shilla group’s health, well-being, fitness and beauty facilities.

The Shilla opened its first Guerlain Spa earlier this year at its sister resort, The Shilla Jeju, on the popular holiday and honeymoon island off Korea’s southern coast.

Part of the prestigious LVMH Group, L’Institut de Guerlain has been synonymous with luxury cosmetics, fragrances and skin-care products since 1939. Its flagship spa is on the Champs Elysees in Paris.

For the grand opening of its spa at The Shilla Seoul, Guerlain has trained masseurs and beauty therapists to its exacting international standards to provide a vast range of treatments from Europe and Asian, as well as its famous range of beauty products.

The facility is being managed by the prestigious Spa Chakra Alliance—operators of spas in a growing number of the world’s most luxurious hotels and resorts worldwide.

The L’Institut de Guerlain’s 12 treatment rooms, including 2 wet rooms, are elegantly appointed, reflecting an air of luxury while creating a relaxed atmosphere with the use of the finest imported fabrics and equipment.

A unique Foot Bath space featuring hydraulically operated client lounges overlooks the magnificent Shilla Japanese gardens - enhanced by specialised lighting and aromatherapy to create a sensory experience.

The Shilla group, a member of the prestigious The Leading Hotels of the World, was selected by Guerlain to spearhead its international network of luxury flagship spas in leading destination cities worldwide. Future locations will include: Paris, Beijing, Shanghai, Barcelona, Madrid, Boston, Bal Harbor (Miami), Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, New York and other notable urban and resort locations.

Guerlain’s world renowned skin care, fragrance and cosmetics treatments uniquely reflect in-depth understanding of the skin, especially in areas involving anti-aging and preventative skin damage care.

The spa features the exclusive Guerlain Method of Facial and Body Massage, in use since 1938 for product infusion and lymphatic drainage. The Shilla Seoul was recently voted as one of the “Top 50 hotels in Asia” in the Conde Nast Traveler “Readers’ Choice Awards”, the only hotel in Korea to be honoured.
