United Waives Fees for Storm Passengers

To assist its passengers,
United Airlines has issued waivers on tickets to and from destinations
affected by severe winter weather in the Midwestern United States.
Effective immediately, these waivers apply to all customers ticketed on or
before Dec. 22, 2004, for travel through Dec. 25, 2004. And they cover
flights from or to airports in Akron/Canton, Cincinnati, Columbus or
Dayton, Ohio; Detroit, Grand Rapids or Lansing, Mich.; Fort Wayne,
Indianapolis or South Bend, Ind.; and Pittsburgh, Penn. Although United has not yet canceled or rescheduled any flights, United
customers can check their flight information before going to the airport
via:

For customers currently en route who would like to return to their point
of origin, all rules and restrictions regarding standard change fees, day
or time applications, and/or minimum stay or Saturday night stay
requirements have been waived. Customers may be rebooked on any available
flight in the same class of service. Tickets must be reissued or
revalidated by midnight on the day of the original scheduled departure.

Customers with unused tickets for travel within this time period may make
one ticketed change to their travel itinerary between the same origin and
destination with no fee, penalty or fare increase—providing the same
booking code is available. Tickets must be reissued or revalidated by
midnight of the day of the original scheduled departure.

Customers who wish to reschedule a completely new itinerary for travel
scheduled within this time period may do so without paying a change fee,
but are subject to paying the difference if the fare is higher.

These policies also apply to any Mileage Plus(R) tickets that meet these
same date and itinerary guidelines. United will continue to monitor this
snowstorm and temporarily adjust its ticketing policies as necessary.
