United Awarded Six Top Honors by Travel Industry

Frequent travelers applauded
United again this year by giving top awards to United’s Mileage Plus(R)
frequent flyer program in several travel magazines’ annual awards. In
addition to being chosen over other carriers for having the best frequent
flyer program, United’s Red Carpet Club(R) lounges and Economy Plus(R)
spacious seating section also received top honors. “We are delighted that the most loyal and trend conscious readers of three
key travel magazines have selected United as having the best frequent
flyer program, airport lounges and premium economy class seating,” said
Martin C. White, senior vice president, Marketing for United Airlines.
“United recognizes the importance of providing our customers with valuable
Mileage Plus rewards, a relaxing reprieve at our Red Carpet Clubs and
Economy Plus seating on all United and Ted flights.”

Business Traveler subscribers are so pleased with the United Mileage Plus
program that they voted United Mileage Plus as the “Best Frequent Flyer
Program” for the ninth year running—an honor United has enjoyed every
year of the award’s existence. In addition, this year United reclaimed
first place in the airport lounge category for its Red Carpet Clubs, an
award it has won for six out of the past seven years. The new honor of
“Best Premium Economy Class in the World” also went to United for its
roomy Economy Plus seating that is available on every United and Ted

In addition, Global Traveler subscribers selected United’s Mileage Plus
program as the “Best Frequent Flyer Program” of the year for its
flexibility in mileage spending and online accessibility.

and the communication between United and its members make the program

Kudos came from Travel Savvy readers as well. In the magazine’s
September/October issue, they named United Mileage Plus the “Best
Frequent- Flyer Program” of 2004, for its “miles that don’t expire,”
Economy Saver Awards without blackout dates, and “chance to rack up
points” by shopping the online Mileage Plus mall (Travel Savvy,
September/October 2004, page 48). United’s Red Carpet Club lounges were
selected as the best among airport lounges for its central locations,
complimentary snacks and soft drinks, conference room rentals and Internet
access availability - all in a relaxed atmosphere
