The Venetian Streamlines Reservations

Expedia, Inc. and
Hotels.com have developed a direct connection with The Venetian Resort
Hotel Casino through the LMS Property Management System (PMS) from
Agilysys, Inc. Through direct connect, The Venetian now benefits from
automatic delivery of bookings to its PMS, which eliminates transaction
costs for bookings made on Expedia.com(R) and Hotels.com. By the end of 2004, The Venetian will use the LMS system to manage its
room inventory offered on Expedia(R), as part of the continued development
and roll-out of Expedia’s direct connect technology. This enhancement will
save the hotel significant time and resources and automate the process for
providing its available rates and inventory to Expedia.

an important step toward eliminating the transaction costs for every
reservation, while improving overall ease and accuracy in the reservation

the enhanced flexibility of managing rates and inventory within the LMS
system, giving us the opportunity to optimize bookings on Expedia with
more efficient and cost-effective processes.”

In April, Agilysys announced that it was adding the ability to link
Expedia’s direct connect technology to its LMS system. Hotels and resorts
using LMS could immediately take advantage of the technology as Expedia
began rolling it out to its hotel partner base this year.

makes it easy for The Venetian to provide Expedia and Hotels.com with
