Convenience and Comfort in Coach on American

Beginning today,
American Airlines passengers traveling in the Coach cabin to and from
Tokyo will have the opportunity to purchase new amenity kits to help make
their journeys across the Pacific a bit more comfortable. The kits also will be tested for sale at select Admirals Club locations,
including American’s domestic clubs in Los Angeles, San Jose, Seattle,
Chicago, Boston and New York’s LaGuardia International Airport.

Flight Attendants will sell the amenity kits onboard for $5 USD, during
the Duty Free service, in a 60-day test. Each kit contains a pair of
socks, eyeshades, earplugs, toothbrush and toothpaste, and will be sold in
November and December as a test run.

The amenity kits are the latest in a series of initiatives designed to
provide customers with products and services they value, such as bigger
bins for carry-on bags, more powerports, and extended cell-phone time
onboard.

If the 60-day test is successful, American will expand the sale of Coach
Class amenity kits to more long-range international flights next year, and
may offer the product in additional Admirals Club locations.
