Singapore Airlines Adds Macallan to First Class

Whiskey connoisseurs will be spoilt for choice as the Macallan 12-year-old single malt whiskey joins the exclusive range of spirits available to First Class passengers on board Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) flights worldwide.
Touted as one of the finest single malts in the world, the Macallan distillers use boutique sherry oak casks from Spain despite the hefty cost which is around 10 times more than the American oak casks used by most distillers.

From the natural golden hue, complex nose of vanilla with hints of ginger, dried fruits, sherry sweetness and wood smoke to an equally delectable palate tinged with spice, the Macallan’s single malt leaves a smooth finish.

Described in the Harrods Book of Whiskey as the ‘Rolls Royce of single malts’ and voted by Whiskey Magazine as the “best malt in the world”, the Macallan adds to the exclusive list of spirits that is offered to the Airline’s First Class passengers. These include the Bombay Sapphire Gin, Cognac XO - Hennessy, Chivas Royal Salute Scotch Whiskey, Bacardi Carta Blanca, Johnnie Walker Black Label, Absolut Vodka and Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey.

SIA’s First Class passengers can also choose from an international selection of beer, liqueurs, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Add to that the Airline’s exquisite list of champagne of Dom Pérignon 1996 and Krug Grande Cuvée, and selection of top-quality wines including pourings from France, Italy, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and port wine from Portugal, and SIA customers are guaranteed a smooth ‘chilling’ ride.
