Parle disappointed with lack of CARICOM response

CHA President Berthia Parle MBE says she is disappointed that there has still been no official response from Caribbean Community (CARICOM) governments to appeals from regional hoteliers for more formal dialogue on the way forward for the tourism industry.Ê Parle told the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) that while she has received personal commitments from some of the regional leaders, which suggest that they may be rethinking their attitudes to the tourism industry, there has yet been any official word from the CARICOM Secretariat on any proposed meetings.

As some may recall, Parle headed a CHA delegation to the July Heads of Government conference in Grenada where she outlined the latest projections for the industry based on the findings of the World Travel and Tourism Council report on the Impact of Travel and Tourism on Jobs and Economy of the Caribbean Community.
