New Air Shuttle Service to Hua Hin Introduced to Serve Evason Guests

An air shuttle service from Bangkok to Hua Hin will be introduced from 1st November 2004, providing an express transfer service for guests of Evason Hua Hin Resort and the new Evason Hideaway Hua Hin. The service provides a very convenient and luxurious alternative to the road transfer.Operated by SGA Airlines, the Hua Hin Air Shuttle will utilize Cessna 208B Caravan aircraft, with capacity for 12 passengers. The aircraft has been fitted out with plush leather seating, and passengers will have a baggage allowance of 20 kilos per person.

Flights depart from Bangkok’s Don Muang Domestic Terminal, with a separate check-in area adjacent to the Bangkok Airways counter. Passengers are met on arrival at Hua Hin airport and provided with a complimentary escorted transfer between the airport and Evason Resort and Evason Hideaway.

The operation is designed to grow with demand but initial flight times have been established to accommodate international arrivals from/to Europe, with daily departures scheduled as follows:

Air fares will be announced very shortly and are expected to be around Baht 5,200 round trip inclusive of all taxes and VAT. A 50% discount applies for children aged 2 to 11 years and a child under 2 who does not occupy a seat will travel free of charge.

The new service has been created by Evason and in partnership with the airline operator to offer convenience and realistic air fares for their guests, tour operator partners and other visitors to Hua Hin.

Chris Oakes, the Area General Manager for Evason in Hua Hin, said: ” We are very excited about this new service which will open up easier access to Hua Hin for all visitors. Whilst the cost of air travel is similar to ground transport we believe that our guests who arrive in Thailand after a long international flight may find the idea of a 30 minute flight to their resort destination more appealing than a 3 to 4 - hour road journey. Additionally of course, they can spend more time at the resort, as most guests depart several hours before their flight time to insure against traffic delays between Hua Hin and Don Muang.”

“Initial reaction from tour operators has been very positive and we are already looking at running night operations to service arrivals from Japan, Korea and Australia”, he added.
