Jamaica has announced that its visitor arrivals were up by 9.5% during July and a further 2% in August, this was lauded by Director of Tourism Paul Pennicook who, when prompted about the recent Hurricane activity stated that Jamaica sustained “very little post-Ivan falloff in September.“Jamaica has recently initiated new hotel projects (along side continuing ones), and a new advertisement strategy in the UK press coupled with increased air service which Mr. Pennicook believes will ‘bode well for the winter and beyond into 2005.’
