Singapore Expands Codeshare with Virgin Atlantic

Passengers of Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Virgin Atlantic Airways (VS) will be able to make convenient connections between Singapore and three more cities on the Eastern seaboard of the Unites States from 31 October 2004 when the two airlines expand their codeshare agreement.
The expanded agreement allows SIA’s passengers on its daily Singapore-London services to connect to VS’s daily services each to Boston, Washington and Miami, and vice versa.

SIA already codeshares on VS’s five-times-a week service between Manchester and Orlando and VS codeshares on SIA’s daily Singapore-Manchester and Singapore-London services.

The new codeshare agreement is the latest in a series of commercial agreements between the two carriers that include a reciprocal frequent flyer relationship, a joint lounge agreement and round-the-world-fares.

“With the expanded partnership with Virgin Atlantic, we can now offer our passengers connections to and from more destinations on the East Coast of the US. Virgin Atlantic’s operations between London and the USA are well-connected and therefore, enables SIA to offer a broader network for business and leisure travelers alike,” said Mr Huang Cheng Eng, SIA’s Executive Vice President Marketing and the Regions.

Mr Willy Boulter, Commercial Director for Virgin Atlantic said: “We are delighted to be expanding our codeshare agreement with Singapore Airlines. Our passengers can now enjoy seamless connections from the East Coast of the US through London to Singapore with excellent standards of service throughout the journey”.
