St. Thomas welcomed a new French Heritage Museum on July 17, 2004. Located in historic Frenchtown, the museum houses artifacts such as wooden tools, original fishing nets, mahogany furniture, musical instruments, pictures and numerous objects that document the lives of people of French descent on St. Thomas. Hundreds of residents attended the grand opening and enjoyed live
music, food and the first official tour of the new museum. The museum is
open five days a week.
