United Airlines Enhances Its Rewards

United Airlines today
announced that it has added several new rewards to its award-winning
Mileage Plus(R) program. These rewards will enable Mileage Plus members to
earn unlimited systemwide upgrades in 2005 and elite status for 2005 twice
as fast. In addition, when Mileage Plus members earn at least 125,000
elite qualifying miles (EQMs) or 125 elite qualifying segments (EQSs) by
the end of 2004, they can give the gift of Premier status to a family
member, friend or colleague and choose an additional reward for themselves. “United’s Mileage Plus program delivers unmatched rewards to our
customers, including a minimum of 100 percent credit for all miles earned
on published fares on United, United Express and Ted,” said Arnold Lewis,
United’s vice president for Marketing Programs. “We are committed to
continually recognizing and rewarding our customers by maximizing the
value of the miles they fly on United.”

systemwide upgrades for each additional 50,000 EQMs above 100,000 EQMs, or
for each additional 50 EQSs above 100 EQSs. To help Mileage Plus members
enjoy their upgrades even sooner, United will provide four systemwide
upgrades, which are valid through January 2006, earlier than usual to
customers who re-qualify for 2005 1K(R) status prior to Dec. 15, 2004. On
Jan. 1, 2005, these 1K customers will receive their remaining 2005
