Qatar Airways’ slogan “taking you more personally” has taken on a new twist. Passengers booking a ticket to any destination on the Qatar Airways route network can now order special meals that correspond to their specific dietary needs.
“Our mission to take each and every one of our passengers personally and to make their journey with Qatar Airways as pleasant as possible, includes taking their individual dietary needs into account,” said General Manager Commercial Mr. Mohammed Saleh Fakhri.
“We have a lot of passengers who either have religious restraints on their diets or have health problems which require them to watch what they eat, and we understand that in such cases, the choice of food available on the aircraft may not be suitable.
“We are offering different options such as vegetarian meals, diabetic meals, meals prepared without lactose, for those who are lactose intolerant; and low-cholesterol meals for those who have to follow a strict diet for health reasons.
“Obviously we are also considering our youngest passengers, with infant and baby food available and special children’s meals for those a little older. There are 22 different dietary meal options available upon special request, suited to our passengers’ specific needs, ” Mr Fakhri stated.
The dietary option will have to be pre-ordered at the time of booking a ticket with Qatar Airways, and our reservation clerks can advise on the details at the time. Please note that Qatar Airways cannot deal with any special requests at check-in time or on-board, as the specific meals would have to be prepared on an individual basis in advance.
Qatar Airways Cabin Crew has last month been voted Best Cabin Crew in the Middle East and fifth in the world for the second year running by independent aviation quality monitor Skytrax.
This accolade came shortly after Qatar Airways having received the prestigious five-star ranking, making it one of only three airlines around the globe to have been awarded the prestigious ranking.
Skytrax also voted Qatar Airways’ Inflight entertainment into eighth place in the world, making it one of only 10 airlines in the world to be recognized in this category.
