Sabre Establishes New Asia Pacific HQ

Sabre Holdings today announced the opening of its Asia Pacific headquarters in Shanghai, China as part of its move to advance the company’s strategic business agenda in the world’s fastest growing market.

The new regional headquarters will enable the company to better serve the key customers and joint ventures that Sabre Holdings has cultivated since entering the Asia Pacific market over a decade ago, as well as focus on future growth opportunities in the region.

“Setting up our regional headquarters in China signals our commitment to bring even more focus and resources to customers in this large and fast growing market,” said Chris Vasiliou, senior vice president and general manager of Sabre Holdings Asia Pacific.”

Vasiliou oversees the company’s Asia Pacific partnerships, as well as all Sabre Travel Network, Travelocity and Sabre Airline Solutions businesses in the region. Previously, Vasiliou was senior vice president of international marketing and chief architect of Asia Pacific joint ventures for Sabre Holdings.

In this important market, the company has gained market traction throughout each of its three businesses:

—Sabre Travel Network partnerships in the region include major travel facilitators and distribution systems: ABACUS, which is based in Singapore and operates in 20 countries; AXESS and INFINI in Japan; Sabre Pacific in the Australian/New Zealand markets; and Sitar in India.

—Travelocity has established a significant presence through ZUJI, in Singapore and Tabini, in Japan; two leading online travel portals.

—The Sabre Airline Solutions business operates directly in Asia Pacific and provides optimization products and services to more than 40 airlines, including Cathay Pacific, Air India, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airlines, Qantas Airlines, VirginBlue and SkyWest.
