(Cendant TDS) and Kimpton Hotels announced today that they have entered into a multi-year distribution and services agreement. The pact provides Kimpton’s nearly 40 unique hotels throughout North America with access to Cendant TDS’ full suite of distribution products and services. In addition, this will enhance the hotel company’s efficiency and profitability through expanded distribution, while providing consumers with expanded access to Kimpton properties through both online and traditional agency channels.

Kimpton hotels, located in major cities such as San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Washington, DC, Boston and New York, as well as Whistler and Vancouver, Canada, will distribute specially negotiated rates through Cendant TDS’ various distribution channels including one of the leading hotel reservation sites for consumers, Lodging.com, and its network of 6,500 affiliates. In addition, Kimpton will also provide Cendant TDS with rates for its Galileo Web!Hotels program, which provides discounted leisure hotel inventory to Galileo travel agents throughout North America.

“Our partnership with Cendant TDS and its vast distribution channels offers us a leg-up in our strategy to expose our very special hotel properties to a broad customer base,” said Jimmy Suh, vice president, Revenue Management & Distribution, Kimpton Hotels.Ê “Expanded distribution through one point of contact enables us to closely manage our distribution costs and increase our sales. We are also able to remain acutely competitive, with Lodging.com’s flexible platform offering us more control over our distribution, pricing and yield management.”

“Kimpton brings something special to Cendant TDS as they have a varied collection of boutique hotels in key markets throughout the U.S. like San Francisco and Chicago,” said Michael W. McCormick, executive vice president of Hospitality & Leisure Services within Cendant TDS. “A partnership like this one is important for so many reasons. It benefits consumers with expanded access to Kimpton Hotels, whether online with Lodging.com or offline with a Galileo agency. It benefits Kimpton with expanded and more efficient distribution, enhancing their profitability. And, it enables Cendant TDS to grow an important part of its portfolio of global hotel inventory, with Kimpton properties boasting 4-star ratings.”
