Emirates Enhances Service to Mauritius

With increased demand posed by travellers from the U.A.E. and GCC (Gulf Co-operation Council) countries to Mauritius, Emirates is introducing First Class service on the airline’s four-weekly flights from Dubai to the Indian Ocean’s Paradise Island.  The three-class Boeing 777-200 will replace the two-class A330-200 aircraft used on the Dubai-Mauritius route since the start of services two years ago.

Emirates First Class delivers a truly luxurious travel experience. From the tasteful touches of the airline’s plush airport lounges to the swift and highly personalised check-in and boarding, the eighteen First Class passengers are pampered throughout their journeys, from beginning to end.

Emirates operates under a code share agreement with Air Mauritius. The agreement entitles Air Mauritius to sell a block of seats on all four flights that Emirates operates on the immensely popular Dubai - Mauritius route.

In announcing the upgraded services, Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Vice President Commercial Operations West Asia & Indian Ocean revealed that the airline has flown close to sixty thousand passengers from the U.A.E. and GCC countries to Mauritius in the two years since the first flight.

He added: “When Mauritius joined the Emirates network, we embarked on a long-term campaign to promote the island’s attractions, especially among the fourteen Middle East cities of our 77-strong network.”

This campaign will be further supported by a joint initiative of Emirates and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority involving a series of travel trade road shows to be held shortly, in key Middle East markets.

Emirates Holidays also promotes Mauritius through its twenty-two offices across the Middle East network. Its ‘World of Choice’ travel brochure includes a rich 41-page mix of flexible, affordable and high-value holiday packages on Mauritius, for all types of travellers including families, honeymooners and up-market travellers.

Emirates’ outbound flight EK701 departs Dubai every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 0255hrs, arriving in Mauritius the same morning at 0925hrs. Return flight EK702 operates on the same days, taking off from Mauritius at 2340hrs and touching down in Dubai the next morning at 0615hrs.
