Academy Graduates Land Airline Pilot Jobs

Seventy-three Delta
Connection Academy graduates have been hired as pilots with eight U.S.
airlines through July 1 of this year. The airlines include Delta Air
Lines’ wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair.
“We are very proud that our graduates continue to excel in these
challenging economic times,” said John Erskine, director of Pilot
Placement at Delta Connection Academy. “Our pilots’ success is indicative
of their individual devotion and the quality of our program.”

Delta Connection Academy students advance to serve as instructors at the
institution. The high rate of placements among academy trained pilots has
made it necessary for the academy to hire a new class of flight
instructors every month for the last three years. The experience that
students gain as instructors is a significant factor in their future
success.

“You can tell that Delta Connection Academy is owned by an airline because
it focuses on pilot training and orienting students to the airline
operating environment,” said Chautauqua Capt. Matthew Bell, a 2002 academy
graduate. “The quality and breadth of the academy’s programs helped me
achieve my goal to be an airline pilot.”

A wholly owned subsidiary of Delta, Delta Connection Academy has produced
more FAA-certified pilots in the past five years than any other flight
school in the world. With a fleet of more than 110 aircraft, the academy
has trained students from 86 different countries and has placed pilots
with 26 airlines. For more information about Delta Connection Academy,
