Breakers Palm Beach Selects System From Agilysys

Agilysys, Inc., a leading
provider of enterprise computer solutions and a leading developer of
hospitality software solutions, announced that The Breakers Palm Beach,
Inc. (The Breakers) in Palm Beach, FL has selected the Materials
Management System (MMS) from Agilysys to streamline operations and enhance
guest services at the 560-room luxury, ocean-front resort property.
MMS, the industry’s leading procurement and inventory system, is a turnkey
software solution with specific functionality geared to the hospitality
industry. Its reliability, capacity for handling high-volume activities,
and incorporation of a full-function accounting backbone in an
enterprise-wide paperless environment set the system apart from its
competitors. MMS allows properties of all sizes to manage the entire
procurement process via e-commerce from the point-of-hotel development to
day-to-day operations.

The selection process was overseen by members of The Breakers team who
appreciate the impact the new software will have on the hotel’s various
operations. “We wanted a product that would grow with our business, and
MMS provided a complete automated solution that increases data integrity
and reduces manual processes, thereby boosting productivity and indirectly
enhancing guest services,” said Barb Gerth, director of internal audit for
the hotel.

“The MMS program offers the flexibility we need to effectively manage all
aspects of our materials management process, and it also works well with
our financial and point-of-sale systems,” said Rick Hawkins, director of
materials management at The Breakers. “We were impressed with the support
and guidance from Agilysys throughout the entire process - from
development to implementation.”

“The MMS software gives The Breakers unprecedented planning and scheduling
capabilities to manage its operational costs,” said Bill Lashley, senior
vice president and general manager for Agilysys, Hospitality Solutions
Group. “By incorporating MMS into its Point-of-Sale, the property can
expect to lower costs, increase its return on investment and streamline
overall operations.”
