Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti Opens Its Doors

The Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti, the first upscale resort to open its doors on the island of Tahiti since 1997, has welcomed its first guests.Ê Situated on four acres in the town of Arue, the heartland of the old Tahitian royal family, the 165-room resort is the only hotel with direct access to Lafayette Beach, a black sand beach spanning 2,600 feet, and the first resort on the island to feature a full-service spa.Ê All guestrooms and suites overlook the ocean with large terraces and 32 guestrooms feature private whirlpools on the terrace with louvered shutters for privacy.Ê

ÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊ General Manager Philippe Guitton said the resort will play an important role in the re-positioning of the island of Tahiti as more than just a stopover destination for travellers venturing onto the outer islands.

Ê

“This full-service resort, with its peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle of busy Papeete, will no doubt change the complexion of travel to the island, encouraging guests to stay longer than the typical one-night stopover on the way to other islands,” said Guitton.
