Orbitz Sends Proactive ‘Care Alerts’ to Hotel Customers

Orbitz
today announced that travelers who book hotels on Orbitz will
receive proactive “Care Alert” messages with vital travel information
about their destination city. Orbitz’s Care Alerts offer details on
security breaches, traffic congestion, severe weather and other potential
travel delays to help travelers avoid trouble and minimize stress.To kick off the new service, Orbitz’s Care Team sent Care Alerts to
customers who booked hotels in Boston during the Democratic National
Convention with details on transportation disruptions. Orbitz also plans
to send Care Alerts to customers who have booked hotels in New York during
the Republican National Convention later this month.

“With more travelers using Orbitz for their hotel arrangements, we’ve
expanded our Care program to include this important and growing customer
base,” said Scott Ackerman, director of Orbitz Customer Care. “Travelers
who book a flight, vacation or hotel on Orbitz benefit from our Care team
of experts, who are monitoring our customers’ travel plans for as long as
they’re away from home.”

Travelers can designate how they prefer to receive Care Alerts—by
mobile phone, pager, PDA or email. Orbitz’s customers also can enroll up
to six family members, colleagues or friends to receive Care Alerts and
stay informed of changes to the traveler’s schedule.

Care Alerts are available to all Orbitz.com and Orbitz for Business
customers.
