Dreams Come True at the Mövenpick Dream Castle

On 15 July 2004 Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts officially opened its first hotel in France: the Mövenpick Dream Castle Hotel. The new 400-room, 4-star theme hotel at Disneyland® Resort Paris is leased by Thomas Cook AG, Dertour and MH&R, and operated by the Swiss hotel chain. Its facilities are aimed first and foremost at families as well as groups, incentives and conferences. The new Mövenpick destination provides its guests with the ideal setting to enjoy the Disney® Parks during the day and then rest and relax in complete comfort in the hotel’s leisure and recreation areas.
Over the past two years the unique Mövenpick Dream Castle Hotel has been built in the Val de France, right next to Disneyland® Resort Paris, Europe’s largest tourist attraction. A free shuttle bus service takes guests to the Disney® Parks in only eight minutes. The hotel is ideally situated for easy access by TGV high-speed train, underground railway (RER), air or by car (with over 300 free parking spaces available).
The castle-style hotel has over 400 modern and comfortable rooms and suites, of which 250 are family rooms with bunk beds for up to 4 people. The hotel’s concept is “A castle across all ages”, featuring different periods of history illustrated by knights in armour from the Middle Ages as well as Renaissance style elements, particularly in the lobby area and the restaurants.
Two restaurants and a large terrace with top quality Mövenpick cuisine are there to ensure that guests enjoy the very best culinary choice. In the morning the Musketeer’s Restaurant serves a generous hot and cold Mövenpick breakfast buffet, and in the evening delightful buffets with market-fresh produce. Elegant surroundings await guests at the Restaurant Sanssouci, with its summer The Sea motto, serving Mediterranean fish specialities and delicious seafood platters. The culinary concept changes during the winter months, with country fare on the theme of The Mountains, including raclette and fondue evenings. During the day guests can enjoy a snack at the Excalibur Bar, and in the summer a tub of Mövenpick ice cream on the terrace with wonderful views of the Castle gardens and lake. This is also the ideal spot to relax in the evenings and savour a glass of wine or the spell of magical cocktails.
“The Torture Chamber” leisure and recreation area, with its fun indoor pool for children, fitness room, sauna, Hammam bath, whirlpool and solarium, is a haven of rest and relaxation, and the place to enjoy a fitness programme. The hotel also has its own beauty salon, where guests can be pampered with professional massages, manicures and pedicures, as well as a range of facial treatments.
The entertainment programme at the family friendly Mövenpick Dream Castle Hotel caters first and foremost for children: facilities range from the fun Joker’s play corner in the Royal Court (lobby) to an exciting outdoor playground. And the Game Zone is packed full of the very latest in video game entertainment. Tickets for the Disney® Parks are available directly from the hotel, and the Disney® Boutique has all the right souvenirs for guests to take home. The garden directly by the lake is the ideal place for a relaxing walk. Seven banqueting rooms offer the complete range of modern infrastructure for up to 350 people, and are available for meetings, seminars, incentives and conferences.
“Together with our strong partners, namely the tour operators Thomas Cook AG and Dertour as well as Disneyland Paris Vacances, we are offering an exceptional product here in Paris, combined with our legendary Swiss hospitality at the very highest level,” says Susanne Meinhard, the hotel’s General Manager. “As a Disneyland® Resort Selected Hotel the opening of the Mövenpick Dream Castle Hotel is a sensational platform from which to launch MH&R in France, too.”
