Phileas Fogg Reports Increased Bookings with Ramesys

15th Jul 2004

Phileas Fogg Travel Group has revealed that internet business has quadrupled as a result of taking Ramesys’ SABS Consumer booking engine.
The agency, which specialises in flights and holidays worldwide, took Ramesys’ solution in March 2004, and sells through its website, a 72 person call centre and a retail outlet in Farnborough, Hants.

SABS Consumer provides both Phileas Fogg’s own travel consultants and the agency’s internet customers with instant access to millions of bookable holidays, which can be searched for using lifestyle requirements, such as family-friendly beaches, shopping opportunities or preferred climate.

Since Ramesys’ engine was installed, bookings through the website have increased by 400%, with over 911 reservations achieved in May alone.

Aidan Whelan, Managing Director at Phileas Fogg said: “SABS Consumer has transformed our web operations, as we can now answer our consumers’ exact needs.

“The system’s lifestyle searching functionality means our customers can quickly find their perfect destination and holiday and make their booking. Our own consultants also use the system to make informed and independent recommendations based on their customers’ requirements - crucial to closing sales.

“SABS Consumer offers us a reliable booking engine across multiple channels, an experience we’ve failed to enjoy with previous software suppliers.”

Brian Sheerin, managing director at Ramesys said: “In recent years Ramesys has become one of the travel industry’s leading agency systems providers. Phileas Fogg’s dramatic performance both in its shops and online shows concretely that our SABS product range is helping our customers prosper, against a backdrop of tough market conditions for agencies.”

SABS Consumer is featured in many leading UK agency sites, including Lets Go Travel, Flightline of Essex, Miss Ellies Travel and Gemstone Travel.
