Qantas Holidays Launches Hotel Site

Qantas Holidays has launched a new online accommodation booking facility which has been designed and operated by Viator Inc.The Qantas initiative, known as ReadyRooms, is designed to meet the needs of people who want to book accommodation in Australia within 14 days.

It is the latest initiative by Qantas Holidays to offer more travel products online, reflecting strong consumer demand for hotel bookings on the web.

Viator launched a similar facility for British Airways in 2002 and has been working with Qantas Holidays on the ReadyRooms project for the past six months.

CEO Rod Cuthbert said the Qantas Holidays and British Airways technology contracts reflect the world-class nature of Viator’s platform - in particular the technology’s ability to adapt to the varying needs of users.

“Technology licensing is an important part of our business that may soon rival our core activity, selling destination activities on the web,” Cuthbert said.
