Six Senses Resorts & Spas have opened the first of their new Evason Hideaway branded properties on the Thai island of Samui.Sila Evason Hideaway & Spa is made up of sixty six villas, of which fifty two feature private infinity-edged pools measuring at least five metres by three metres. (16? x 10 feet). There is also an oversized central Hideaway Pool.

The villas are located amongst natural vegetation around a gently sloping headland, providing maximum privacy while offering unsurpassed panoramas out to the Gulf of Siam and nearby islands. The individual lifestyle space offered by each villa type begins with a generous 130 sq. metres (1,395 sq.ft) for a Hideaway Villa, to 160 sq. metres (1,722 sq. ft) for a Pool Villa and a luxurious 300 sq. metres (3,230 sq. ft) for a Pool Villa Suite. All villas are split-level and have an open-style bathroom, enhancing the space and natural light, and also maintaining views from almost every point from within each villa.

Restaurant and dining alternatives present a number of options that appeal to all tastes. Dining on the Hill offers all-day dining plus seascapes to the north of the island. The restaurant theme varies from very casual through to stylish, offering several dining areas with varying atmosphere from which guests can choose - to Thai style, seated on the floor with big comfortable cushions, and western style table-top dining.

Dining on the Rocks is located on the tip of the headland and includes a 270 degree view of the surrounding sea and islands. At dinner, the lights from fishing boats and the evening tropical sky create a romantic atmosphere in a stylish environment that is establishing itself as the islands premier culinary experience. Private dining can be created in a host of personal and secluded areas, as well as the villas or private decks. Pool Villa Butlers are on hand to assist with all arrangements.

Drinks on the Hill and On the Rocks are two elegantly designed bars complimenting the restaurants. Wines on the Hill is a specially designed wine ‘cellar’ representing some of the world’s most respected regions - from the old world as well as the new. Regular wine tastings are a feature.

Other services and facilities include the Hideaway Spa with indoor and outdoor areas, two dry saunas, steam rooms, and a focus on holistic wellness and therapeutic treatments, including special treatments designed to be enjoyed by couples. There is a gymnasium, water sports recreation centre, library of DVDs for the in-villa entertainment systems and a Six Senses Gallery gift shop.

The word Sila in Thai-language can mean rocks, and this word was chosen to reflect the dramatic location of Sila Evason Hideaway & Spa, with its dramatic rock formations around the base of the headland, contrasting beautifully with the white sand beach of Samrong Bay.

Employing a ratio of four hosts per villa, more than two hundred and sixty jobs have been created with the opening of Sila Evason Hideaway. Intensive training programmes assure that the level of guest service establishes a new benchmark for the destination.
