Wyndham Renews Wayport High-Speed Contract

Wayport, the leading provider of Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) wireless and wired high-speed Internet access in more than 2,500 locations including nearly 800 hotels, 12 airports and McDonald’s and UPS Stores in select cities nationwide, today announced that it will continue to be the high-speed Internet service provider for Wyndham International, for the next three years.
“Wayport’s product and service offerings help us increase our bottom line by driving occupancy and incremental business to our hotels, and made it possible for us to launch and maintain our industry-leading Wyndham ByRequest(R) guest recognition program,” said Mark Hedley, Wyndham’s senior vice president and chief technology officer. “Wayport’s commitment and understanding of our business over the past several years has convinced us that they are an outstanding partner in providing high-speed Internet service to our guests. Because of this outstanding partnership, Wyndham recently honored Wayport with the ‘It Takes Two’ supplier award at our annual leadership conference.”

The agreement includes providing service at 85 Wyndham properties across the nation. Guests and meeting attendees of these properties will be able to enjoy unlimited use of Wayport’s high-speed Internet service, which allows them to log onto the Internet, receive e-mail and access corporate networks—up to 50 times faster than dial-up. In addition, Wyndham has also signed on to install Wayport CyberCenters in 9 of their largest hotels. Wayport’s CyberCenter features all the accessibility options for meeting attendees including a kiosk with notebook computers featuring Intel(R) Centrino(TM) mobile technology for walk-up access, cubicles with high-speed Internet connections for guests using their own notebook computers, printing capabilities and an on-site Wayport data-support specialist.

“Wayport is honored to be a valued partner of Wyndham and will proudly continue to offer our quality service and support to such a leading hotel brand like Wyndham,” said Jack Alton, vice president of sales for Wayport. “We are proud to have Wyndham guests and meeting planners staying connected and productive with Wayport’s high-speed Internet service and will continue to prove our value by providing them with the best connection experience in the industry.”
