Qatar Airways Celebrates Tehran Operations

Qatar Airways celebrated the start of its operations to Tehran last week after the arrival of flight QR488 in Iran’s capital. Mr. Akbar Al Baker expressed his delight with the new service: “Tehran is not only our first service to the country of Iran, but also marks our 50th destination on our route network. This is a momentous and proud occasion.

“Flying to Tehran has been on our agenda for a long time, and we are pleased that we have now opened this service. We will be flying into Tehran four times per week.

“Tehran is the natural gateway to Iran and the country’s modern and thriving business center. Our service will be a convenient connection for business travelers from any of our worldwide destinations going to Iran, and will also open a new portal to business travelers from Tehran and its surrounding areas.

“On the other hand, with Tehran being the capital of a country with some 6,000 years worth of history and culture, and numerous sites which are of great value and interest to tourists, we expect this service to attract a fair amount of leisure travelers coming from Qatar, the Middle East and Europe in particular.” Mr. Al Baker said.

Qatar Airways will be flying to Tehran four times per week. Flight QR488 will leave Doha at 12:00 hrs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to arrive in Tehran at 15:30 hrs local time.
