Caribbean Sun Airlines announces increased airlift: San Juan to Antigua

Caribbean Sun Airlines announced on Wednesday that it would be increasing its daily flights from San Juan to Antigua effective July 2nd, 2004. The extra flights have become necessary to facilitate the growing number of passenger s on this route. Emad Abushaar, Director of Ground Operations for Caribbean Sun, based at the airline’s headquarters in Ft Lauderdale said, “The extra flights are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will accommodate the heavy weekend traffic between Antigua and San Juan”. Mr. Abushaar, added that this decision was taken just in time for the upcoming July-August, holiday period, which is usually very busy.

The extra flights will conveniently depart San Juan at 2.00 p.m. and will arrive in Antigua in time for passengers to make a seamless connection on its sister airline Caribbean Star to other islands in the southern Caribbean, i.e. Dominica, St. Lucia , Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad.

Caribbean Sun Airlines currently has 2 daily flights from San Juan to Antigua. San Juan is the US shopping capital of the Caribbean and attracts heavy traffic from passengers wishing to take advantage of the shopping and those who wish to conduct business. In addition to Antigua, Caribbean Sun Airlines now flies to St Maarten, St Kitts, Tortola, St. Croix and St Thomas.
