Robert Dubourcq is "Caribbean Hotelier of the Year"

Sint Maarten hotelier Robert Dubourcq has been named the 2004 Caribbean Hotel Association’s (CHA) “Caribbean Hotelier of the Year.”  The honor was conferred during a special gala on June 16, 2004 that officially ended the 2004 Caribbean Hotel Industry Conference (CHIC), held at the Wyndham El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico. The Caribbean Hotelier of the Year Award is co-sponsored by Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell and American Express.
Dubourcq is the 27th recipient of the prestigious Caribbean Hotelier of the Year honour, presented annually to an outstanding hotelier in the Caribbean region. Dubourcq was presented the Golden Conch Award in recognition of his demonstrated excellence in hotel operations, as well as his leadership and achievement in fostering the goals of the entire Caribbean hospitality in dustry. The Golden Conch Award was founded in 1978 by Jim Pepperdine, a partner in the Orlando-based marketing, advertising and public relations firm of Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell (YPB&R).

Said CHA president Berthia Parle, who was the Golden Conch Award recipient in 2003, “Robert Dubourcq has selflessly shared his energy, time and vision to further Caribbean tourism initiatives. His success in initiating and maintaining programs for economic and educational achievement through the University of St. Martin has set positive templates to further the Caribbean region’s tourism industry.”
