Great Hotels Organisations Opens Office in China

The Great Hotels Organisation has announced the opening of an office in China, which will spearhead the expansion of GHO into the region.Ê Situated in Beijing, Great Hotels Organisation China will also be responsible for supporting the company’s 240 global hotel members through sales and marketing initiatives within the region.Ê


Peter Gould, CEO of the Great Hotels Organisation, commented, “Our expansion into China marks a significant development for the Great Hotels Organisation and its member hotels.Ê China is now the largest contributor to the inbound and outbound travel market in Asia and by 2020 it will be the world’s biggest tourism destination.Ê In addition to increasing membership from within China, the new office will provide our existing members with invaluable resources to directly target consumers and the MICE market within the region.”


The expansion of the Great Hotels Organisation into China is a strategic and considerable development for the luxury marketing alliance and its members.Ê Last year, 16.6 million Chinese travellers went abroad and 91.7 million people visited China, of which 11.4 million were foreigners.



Vice President of the Great Hotels Organisation China, Vivien Hong Lin will oversee the new office in Beijing.Ê In the next 12 months, Vivien’s team plans to sign up 15 new member hotels to the Great Hotels Organisation, all within China’s key business travel destinations.Ê Existing members of the Great Hotels Organisation will benefit from the team’s expertise and domestic market knowledge.


Vivien, with two masters degrees in tourism management from leading British universities, brings to the Great Hotels Organisation extensive marketing and travel industry experience and an exceptional understanding of the Chinese market.Ê
