City Inn, the award winning all new-build prime city centre hotel group, today announced that they have now signed up the documentation and are to commence construction of their Manchester hotel in January 2005. Ê
City Inn has been setting a new standard in stylish 4 star city centre hotels since its first hotel opened in Bristol in 1999 with the most recent being the opening of City Inn Westminster in 2003. City Inn Westminster is London’s biggest new build hotel in 30 years and has recently won the Architectural Award for Best New Hotel at the European Design Awards 2003 and Best New Hotel at the International Hotel Investment Forum 2004. The hotel has been designed by Weintraub Associates with interior designers Gerard Taylor Associates.

The Manchester hotel will be the fifth in the City Inn portfolio and will open for business in August 2006. City Inn Manchester will occupy a landmark site at the new Piccadilly Place development, with 284 bedrooms including six suites, a sophisticated and stylish Lounge Bar and 120 cover CITY CAFé with al fresco terrace and a unique Sky Lounge with panoramic views of the cityscape.

The hotel forms a key part of Piccadilly Place, a redevelopment initiative by Manchester City Council.
