It’s official: Holder announces closure on term

Following months of speculation and rumours secretary general of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation, Mr. Jean Holder, has finally announced a date for his retirement, Dec. 31 ‘04.Mr. Holder has been with the CTO since its birth back in1989.

Owing to a back log of holiday leave Jean will actually leave the establishment in September.

During Caribbean Week in New York, CTO established a search committee to begin the process of selecting a new secretary general. This was implemented on June 3.

The committee includes Ministers from Jamaica, Antigua and the Bahamas along with 2 members of the Directors of Tourism Association.

“We expect to have several nominees within the next few months and will name the new secretary general at the Caribbean Tourism Conference at the Wyndham Aruba in Oct.” Said CTO chairman and minister of tourism for the Bahamas, Obie Wilchcombe.
